Yes we have a branch near the Club Med - and they confirmed that the hurricanes have mostly missed that island.

Hi All -

We have heard directly from the resort and all is well!

We look forward to seeing all of you soon,

Jeri Umble, Sr. Director, Customer Care

Turkoise Report:  We are happy to announce, Turkoise did NOT sustain any major damage from Hurricane Ike!  All GO's at the village are safe.  The team is currently working to clean up the village from all the storm debris (tree branches, roof shingles, etc).

Does Anyone have a good website to check the status of the Hurricanes and Damage?

I just checked the weather underground and to me it looks like Turks and Caicos will take a direct hit from IKE.  I am concerned about Club Med getting back to working order if it gets messed up during this hurricane. A Cat 3 can break windows, tear roofs and bring down trees.  We live in Calif and have never been close to a hurricane or tropical storm so we are getting nervous about this one doing a lot of damage.  I hope Olivia keeps us informed.....

Club Med Turcs & Caicos Tropical Storm Hanna Update

Tropical Storm Hanna forced the temporary closure of the airport in Providenciales for several days. The airport will be reopened as soon as weather conditions permit. Local authorities are working with the airlines to resume flight operations as quickly as possible after the airport reopens. Airlines are reviewing the possibility of bringing in extra flights and planes to assist in helping affected guests return home.

Club Med is working closely with the guests and airlines to re-book guests as quickly as seats become available. Guests or family members who have any questions about their flight status should contact their individual air carriers for the latest information.

Tropical Storm Hanna did not damage Club Med and the resort has full electrical power, water, telephone services as well as plentiful food and beverages. The restaurant opened last evening and entertainment and shows were provided as normal for the guests. The resort is providing free internet access guests who wish to check on flight status or to send emails to their families and friends.

Hi,

Turks and Caicos footage on the news showed flooding. I am not sure about Club Med specifically, but I am concerned as well.  It appears another hurricane is headed for Turks on Mon.  If you find out any more info, please post it here. I will do the same.

I hate to put a damper on things but does anyone know if any of the Hurricanes have done damage on the Islands and Club Med in particular?  I know one of them hit Turks and Caicos but it was only a Category 1 so I wouldn't have thought it would cause much damage.
