We were switched too. It has nothing to do with IKE. AA revises their flight routes each month, so if you planned and purchased your itenerary early, (as we did) you run the risk of it changing. The agent at AA said once Oct 1st passed the itenerary we have now should stick. No more changes. So instead of arriving on Thursday Oct 30th at 11:45am, we get to layover in Miami for 5 hours and not arrive until 5pm. We were also rerouted thru JFK on the return which I purposely avoided. UGH! We usually tack on a few extra days with these trips mainly because the air travel can be a challenge. We didn't want to arrive at Club Med late Saturday and then leave early on the last Sunday. It really cuts out on your vacation days. We will make it work as we always do, but it is still frustrating.

My partner and I were also switched. It works out okay for us as we live in NY, but I imagine it is difficult for many. Does the later flight stop in NY also?

Yes we did.  When I called the airline they had cancelled the 12:55 flight and that is the only way we could get back to Phoenix that day.  I think we are going for the later flight and will layover in Miami.

Did anyone else get their return flight changed from 12:55 to 8 a.m.???  I am soooo not happy with that departure time!!

WE GET IN AT 1PM SO THEY SAY CHECK IN  IS AT 3PM AND OLIVIA WILL PICK YOU UP AT THE AIRPORT SO I FIGURED THAT WOULD GIVE US ENOUGH TIME TO GET CHECKED IN AND READY TO PARTY.   No, I can't say I know WRIB. Yes, you are lucky to get the direct flight. The only good thing about going with AA was that we are able to stay nine days.

 We decided to fly in on the 30th and stay a few nights at Paradise Inn. We found it on Purple roofs. It's just a few hundred yards from the Club Med and they share the same beach. Just some decompression time prior to -- FUN!!!!!!

Hi, we leave Los Angeles the evening of 10/31 and get to Miami early.  Our original flight with AA was to get the 10:30am to Turks but we got an email from AA saying they changed our am flight to the 2:30p.  Now we are stuck in the airport all day. I think we will take a taxi to Gloria Estefan's restaurant Bongo's for a Cuban lunch before departing.  Then let the girl vaca begin!!!

We searched up and down on the internet and in the end, we booked our flight from Miami to the Turks on American Airlines.  They are the only airlines really that fly there.

I can tell you now tho that there are two flights on the 30th, 31th and the 1st.

The 2:35pm flight IS ALL BOOKED UP however you might still be able to get a ticket with Expedia or Priceline if you can afford to pay $2,000.00 plus.  Mind you, they were originally $487.00 with the "discount" but of course, everyone wanted that flight in instead of the 2nd one which doesn't arrive in the Turks until 8:35pmish and by the time you leave the airport and get to Club Med, you'ld be checking in pretty late and you'ld miss the whole first day.

If you fly in on the 31st to the Turks like us, you will simply have to find a place to stay for the night cause Olivia does not have any "Pres" just "Posts".

I found a great deal from PDX to Miami on United Airlines with just one stop in between.

Yes, lucky me....it was the only nonstop flight available!  I am going with my partner.  We have both travelled with Olivia separately, but now we can enjoy this trip together.  I was at Punta Cana in April 2007 and thoroughly enjoyed it.  My partner went on a Caribbean cruise in February and she also had a great time.  We both are in the GTA so not right in the city, but plan on moving closer in a few years.  We are members of WRIB, do you know of it?

Girl, you got lucky! AC didn't have a flight when we booked. Oh well, we only have a 1-2 hour stop over in Miami. And actually we paid just a little over a grand for our tickets so it worked out OK. I did get anxious about making sure we got there..lol!! Look forward to meeting you there. Are you going alone or with your partner? Where in the T.O. area are you?

I'm from the Toronto area and I have now booked an Air Canada direct flight to PLS for $1129.00.  AA wanted $1738.00 and it had several stops and that's with the Olivia discount code.  This flight is perfect as it arrives in Turks around 1pm and leaves on the 8th at 1:30pm.  Only a 3 to 4 hour flight.

It does seem like it probably best to just go ahead and purchase the tickets now and not try to wait and see if lowering gas prices make the price any lower!

We booked through American via Miami. We actually come from Toronto, Canada. I think your choices will be fairly limited and I would suggest booking sooner than later for this reason!
